Job Description 

Aspen Medical USA is seeking qualified candidates for Travel Registered Nurses for In Patient Pediatrics to support the mission of the Indian Health Services (IHS). Service will be performed at hospitals, clinics, other locations as determined by the GSU to provide needed services to the Navajo Area Indian Health Service within the Gallup Indian Medical Center. 

 

This position is in the inpatient Pediatric Unit at Gallup Indian Medical Center 

 

Responsibilities: Performs comprehensive, professional nursing duties in the care of children and adult medical/surgical overflow. Assesses patients on admission to unit, determines level of care and initiates plan of care based on findings and physician orders. Observes clinical conditions of children and neonates Interprets findings and immediately decides proper action Collaborates with care team on findings Manages a variety of suction devices, as well as gavage feedings Operates special equipment, such as apnea monitors, cardiac monitors, hypothermia units, and the infant warming unit, as well as the infant transport unit. Stats and monitors IV lines Monitors and maintains hyperalimentation and umbilical catheter lines Assists physicians in the delivery room for care of neonates. Administers prescribed medication to all children and neonates by whatever route ordered and allowed. 

 

Requirements: • The candidate shall have a minimum of twenty-four (24) months relevant experience within the last thirty-six (36) months working in Pediatrics in patient Unit. • All nurses shall possess a current, valid unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract. • Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification is required. 

 

• The Candidate shall possess basic knowledge, skills, and abilities to use a computer. • All nurses providing service under this contract shall attend mandatory orientations and training specified by the Government. • The candidate shall provide all Immunization records.
